Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Golden Monkey Trek

6:00 AM — Depart Kigali Private 4x4 pickup from your hotel. Drive to Kinigi, Volcanoes National Park headquarters (approx. 2.5–3 hours). 8:30 AM — Park Briefing at Kinigi Registration and safety briefing, then group assignment with your ranger guide. 9:00 AM — Trek into the Bamboo Forest Guided walk into golden monkey habitat on the lower slopes of the Virunga volcanoes. Trekking time varies with monkey location, typically 30 minutes to 2 hours each way. Approx. 10:30 AM — One Hour with the Golden Monkeys Observe and photograph a habituated troop as they feed and play through the bamboo canopy. 12:00 PM — Descend and Return to Kinigi Hike back out to the park headquarters. 12:30 PM — Lunch Meal at a local restaurant in Musanze/Kinigi (own account, or arranged in advance). 1:30 PM — Drive back to Kigali
