Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Kigali → Akagera National Park
Pickup from your Kigali hotel or airport → scenic 2.5-hour drive east to Akagera National Park → check-in at your lodge → afternoon game drive in the savanna, watching for buffalo, giraffe, and zebra as the light softens → dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive & Boat Safari
Early morning game drive tracking lion and elephant across Akagera's open plains → return to lodge for lunch → afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema, Rwanda's second-largest lake, home to hippos, crocodiles, and prolific birdlife → sundowner drinks on the water → overnight at the lodge.
